FRANCIS A. FROBEL BIOGRAPHY
Francis A. Frobel was appointed Village Manager August 1, 2005. For a few weeks prior to his official appointment he served as temporary Village Manager. He is responsible to the Mayor and Board of Trustees for the day to day management and operation of the Village. He also works closely with the Mayor and Trustees helping them formulate objectives, policies and programs.
Prior to his position in Hastings-on-Hudson he served as Town Manager of Coventry, Rhode Island for nineteen years. Before that assignment he served as Assistant Town Manager in Killingly, Connecticut for nearly eight years. He is a graduate of the University of Hartford, Connecticut, receiving an MPA Degree in 1976 and his BA from Central Connecticut State University in 1975.
Fran Frobel is an ICMA Credential Manager. He has served as an officer in the Rhode Island City Manager's Association and on several ICMA National Committees. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Rhode Island Local Official Award. He is a past member of the American Society for Public Administration. Fran has served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns and as a Trustee of the Rhode Island Interlocal Insurance Trust. He served in the Connecticut Army National Guard from 1971-1978, reaching the rank of Sergeant.
Fran is married to Laura Frobel, MSW, a medical social worker at the Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Their son Christopher is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and Louisiana State University. He is employed with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Their daughter Elizabeth is a graduate of Arizona State University and Hunter College. She teaches in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
The Frobels live at 11 Nepperhan Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson.
